A word from the Director

Dear Parents and Learners,

The Management and staff of Kigali Greater Heights School (KGHS) welcomes you, your family and friends to our school campus at Masoro, Gasabo District, Kigali City, Rwanda. This is a Christ-cantered school which values adversity and values cultural norms. This is a fast-growing school will have a population of 6500 learners by 2019. Though it is currently having the nursery and primary sections, it will within a short time have the secondary section. About 1,500 learners are expected to attend Kigali Greater Heights School (KGHS) each year by the end of the next five years. There are expected to be approximately 80 professional and para-professional staff members at KGHS. This is a dynamic and ever learning organization for all staff and learners alike. Professional administration and staff provide excellent learning opportunities for all learners.

The “Quality Standards in Education for nursery and primary schools in Rwanda” guides Kigali Greater Heights School together with a deliberate focus on international best practices as our guiding principle. We believe and support the highest individual achievements for all learners. We also believe that NO CHILD will be left behind and we therefore, promise an excellent educational program for all.

Special Education, English and French as languages of communication, Compensatory Education, and reading programs in a Christian environment shall be emphasised at KGHS. If a learner needs special education, an individual plan for his/her education will be prescribed. Inputs from the learner and parents will also be included. There is also a Gifted Education (GE) program, for learners whose potential and/or performance are so extraordinary that they require differentiation in their instructional program.

The following suggestions will help establish learning rituals for your nursery and primary-age child:
– Communicate frequently with your child’s teacher.
– Ask your child about his/her day at school.
– Establish a daily study time at home.
– Read to your child each day.
